以前にも少しお伝えしたFallout: New Vegasに搭載される“ハードコアモード”の情報が明らかにされています。そのかなり厳しい仕様は多くの人を絶望に陥れ、また多くの人のチャレンジ精神を掻き立てるのではないでしょうか。
■弾薬に重量がつく

■食事と睡眠を毎日とらなければならない

■スティムパックは即座に回復せず、時間をかけて回復する

■損傷した四肢はドクターまたはドクターバッグによってのみ治癒。ただしドクターバッグを使用するには高いScienceスキルとMedicineスキルが必要

■水分補給が必要
いずれもゲームの難易度をグッと引き上げるようなものばかりですね。生きる事だけで精一杯となりそう……。

またFallout: New VegasのプロデューサーであるJason Bergman氏は、本作がFallout 3よりもはるかに自由であると話し、その一例として誰も殺さずに全ゲームを経験する事ができると伝えています。

逆にゲームに登場する2,200人程度のキャラクターは特定の1人（ゲームをクリアするための重要人物のため不死身）を除いて全員を殺害する事もできるのだそうです。

誰も殺さずにクリアするというのは“非常に困難”との事ですが、ある意味ではコアなファンへの挑戦状なのかもしれません。これをハードコアモードでやろうと思ったら長い道のりとなりそうですね。
